Figueres (ACN) - Once again, the three Dalí museums managed by the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation have increased their number of visitors. In 2012 a total of 1,457,765 people visited the three most important spaces dedicated to the Catalan exponent of Surealism art. As always, the number one attraction was the Teatre Museu Dalí in Figueres, located in northern Catalonia, near the French border, which reached more than 1.2 million visitors, 1.55% more than last year.
With regard to these figures, the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation pointed out that the other two centres, Dalí’s house in Portlligat, located in the Costa Brava town of Cadaqués, and the artist’s castle in Púbol, in the Costa Brava countryside, remain closed in the winter months. In 2012 these two spaces registered a 0.74% and 5.19% more visitors respectively than the year before. In addition, the Teatre Museu Dalí is opened during some nights in the summer. In the 21st edition of this initiative the number of visitors also increased: a total of 15,252 people visited the museum at nights, 15% more than in 2011.
